Job description

• Lead the monthly financial close, with particular focus on freight, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Own end-to-end freight accounting, including reserves, across North American factories and distribution centers
• Lead freight process and accounting oversight and other transformational activities
• Manage third-party provider relationships
• Supervise and develop direct reports and provide mentorship across departments; initial team of 2 direct reports
• Perform and control the month-end financial statement closing process
• Support team members and review journal entries
• Review month-end account reconciliations prepared by team members
• Drive automation initiatives using Excel, SAP BI/Analysis for Office, and data extraction tools
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective solutions
• Support annual SOX initiatives and work with external and internal auditors
• Participate in cross-functional special projects
• Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, economics, or data analytics
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office applications at a proficient level
  • 2+ years of experience in team management
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
  • Experience with SAP and HFM preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated success communicating with senior leaders, collaborating across functions, and presenting financial information clearly
  • Adaptability to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy within a diverse organization
