Shift: Monday-Friday - 2:30pm - 11:00pm
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory control within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and proper stock management in a cold storage environment. This role involves supervising the inventory team, conducting regular cycle counts, addressing discrepancies, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities- Team Supervision: Lead and manage the inventory control team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of all inventory data. Perform regular cycle counts, full physical inventories, and spot checks to ensure stock accuracy.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve any inventory discrepancies, such as overages, shortages, or damage, in a timely manner. Work closely with receiving and shipping teams to identify and rectify issues.
- Warehouse Management System (WMS): Ensure accurate and efficient use of the WMS to track inventory movements, adjustments, and updates. Train staff on the effective use of the system.
- Product Handling: Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of products, especially those requiring cold storage, to maintain product integrity and minimize damage or spoilage.
- Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse, shipping, and receiving departments to maintain accurate stock levels and support the overall efficiency of warehouse operations.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in inventory management processes and implement strategies to enhance accuracy and productivity.
- Reporting: Generate regular reports on inventory levels, discrepancies, and team performance. Provide insights and data to management to assist in operational planning.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure the team adheres to all safety protocols, particularly in handling cold storage products. Promote a safe working environment and enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. Experience in cold storage or food logistics is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to analyze data and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Knowledge of inventory management best practices and processes.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Ability to work in cold storage environments with temperatures as low as -20°F.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
