Job description

Frozen Warehouse Forklift Operator

The Frozen Warehouse Forklift Operator is responsible for the removal of product lines while ensuring proper rotation is always maintained.

Job Responsibilities

  • Follow and comply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's);
  • Safety, demonstrated behaviors in support of company safety procedures with focus on zero injuries;
  • Responsible for loading trailers with pallets, operating a stand-up forklift in and out of the warehouse;
  • Ensure all product that is being placed in the freezer is in good shippable condition;
  • Ensure pallets are tagged properly. (Color Coded Tags, Pallet Stickers, and Pallet Tickets);
  • Accurately locate (store) product in respective racks;
  • Accurately pick and stage product for loads and ensure proper rotation (oldest out first) is being used;
  • Locating and picking finished goods from Freezer Warehouse;
  • Assist Palletize, Stocker Picker, Loader, and Team Lead personnel as needed;
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Responsible for accurately documenting the production log and scanning product into the inventory database;
  • Keep pallet dispenser full of pallets;
  • Deliver each skid to the appropriate freezer and stage product to the floor;
  • Periodically locate product to the rack (includes all levels and warehouses);
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks as needed;
  • Ensure all equipment and surrounding work area is maintained;
  • Communicate problems to supervisor immediately;
  • Participate in month and year end inventory;
  • Communicate with production department to maintain efficient operation;
  • Comply with all regulatory agencies;
  • Performs other required tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required;
  • Experience working in a production, manufacturing or distribution environment for minimum of 3 months;
  • Ability to speak, read and write English;
  • Ability to use a Scissor lift for Inventory maintenance;
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification;
  • Ability to withstand below -10 degrees Fahrenheit for an extended period;
  • Physical ability to handle product and pallets weighing up to 60 lb.;
  • Experience working in a food processing or packaging environment;
  • Experience working in a GMP compliant environment;
  • Able to work at heights up to 30 feet;
  • Exhibit a positive attitude within a team environment;
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated;
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
