Freezer Packer Job Description and Duties

A freezer packer is a specialized packer who works in cold storage or refrigerated environments, packing perishable goods such as frozen foods, seafood, or prepared meals for shipment or sale. This role requires both general packing skills and the ability to handle cold-chain logistics.

Core Responsibilities

· Select and inspect items from refrigerated inventory, ensuring they are in good condition and meet quality standards

· Pack securely using appropriate materials (e.g., shrink wrap, bubble wrap, insulated boxes) to protect products from damage and maintain temperature integrity

· Label and seal packages accurately with correct shipping labels, barcodes, or temperature-sensitive tags

· Weigh and record shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with order requirements

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the freezer section, following cold storage safety protocols

· Report issues such as damaged goods, temperature deviations, or stock shortages to supervisors

· Operate cold storage equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, conveyors, freezer doors) safely and efficiently

· Follow strict hygiene and safety rules in a cold environment, including handling frozen products without thawing them

Pay Details: $20.00 to $28.00 per hour
