Job description

Job Title: FreeSWITCH Voice Developer
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Experience Required: 5+ Years
Pay Rate: $45 - $50

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced FreeSWITCH Voice Developer with strong expertise in VoIP, SIP, and voice engineering to support and enhance contact center voice platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of call flows, real-time communications, and Linux-based voice systems, along with experience in designing and troubleshooting voice solutions.
This role involves analyzing call behavior, improving voice platform performance, and recommending system and process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and support voice/telephony solutions using FreeSWITCH.
  • Analyze end-to-end call flow and troubleshoot voice issues.
  • Understand and work with FreeSWITCH modular architecture.
  • Develop and maintain call flow diagrams, VUI, and technical documentation.
  • Work with SIP media gateways and FreeSWITCH integrations.
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize contact center voice platforms.
  • Identify system improvements and recommend new solutions/designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for voice platform enhancements.
  • Provide in-depth analysis and resolution for voice communication issues.

Required Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in Voice Engineering / Telephony.
  • Strong expertise in VoIP, SIP protocols, and voice technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with FreeSWITCH architecture and integrations.
  • Ability to trace and analyze call flow across multiple legs.
  • Experience designing voice solutions and technical documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience working with Linux-based systems and appliances.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Unix/Linux system administration, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Scripting or automation using Python, Bash, or similar.
  • Experience with databases like Oracle or Cassandra.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud deployments.
