Job description

Hospice On‑Call Registered Nurse (RN)

Provide hospice patient care after‑hours and on weekends as needs arise, enabling patients to spend quality time with loved ones, building trusting relationships, educating caregivers, and maintaining maximum comfort and coping during after‑hours emergency support.

Schedule: On‑Call Friday (5:00pm) – Monday (8:00am); schedule may include weekends only, weeknights only, or seven days on, seven days off.

Responsibilities
  • Provide hospice patient care after‑hours and on weekends.
  • Enable patients to spend quality time with loved ones and engage in activities they enjoy.
  • Build trusting, compassionate relationships with patients and families.
  • Educate caregivers on care for their loved one.
  • Maintain maximum level of comfort and coping for patients and families during after‑hours emergency support.
Requirements
  • RN license in the state you work.
  • Two years of registered nurse experience, hospice experience preferred.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Current CPR and BCLS certification.
  • Flexibility to meet agency staffing needs; schedules may include weekends only, weeknights only, or seven days on, seven days off.
