Job description

Role: Senior Specialist, Digital Creative
Location: Rosslyn, VA (On-site)

Role overview:

We’re seeking a highly versatile digital creative to tell stories with compelling visual content across video, 3D, web, and social media. As both a global industrial powerhouse and innovative industry disruptor, Hanwha Defense USA has a great story to tell, and we’re looking for someone who thrives on variety, collaborates freely, and enjoys creating content that gets attention.

This role combines concept development with hands-on production, using tools like Adobe Creative Suite and even Unreal Engine to bring ideas to life. You’ll work across disciplines—video production, motion graphics, 3D visualization, and digital design—while also helping manage media workflows and production assets. And you’ll have the ability to directly influence and shape outcomes in a highly visible way as we build our brand in the U.S.

This is a new role on a small but growing team, and will report to and collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Digital Media.

About Hanwha Defense USA:

Based in Arlington, Virginia, we’re an American affiliate of the global Hanwha Group. We are investing in infrastructure modernization and organic growth in the continental U.S. to bolster domestic production, collaborate with technology innovators, and expand America's defense industrial base. Similar to the company's existing efforts in Australia and Europe, we are proud to facilitate the integration of technology and efficient production practices from Hanwha's world-leading facilities to our U.S. operations.

Core responsibilities:

  • Concept and produce high-quality video content for social media and web, using Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
  • Shoot photo and video content, using professional gear, in both controlled and “run-and-gun” environments
  • Produce digital and print assets using primarily Adobe tools, and occasionally AI tools if appropriate
  • Contribute to website design and content management
  • Organize and maintain media storage systems and asset libraries
  • Ensure proper file management, backups, and version control
  • Coordinate with external partners as needed (e.g., print production, freelance designers)
  • Occasional support publishing social media posts

Growth Responsibilities:

  • Develop 3D visuals and conceptual environments (e.g., Unreal Engine)
  • Create motion graphics and animations in After Effects
  • Manage or help build out studio capabilities (lighting, audio, workflows)
  • Operate drones (if licensed) for aerial content capture

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of corporate experience, with a strong portfolio of work
  • Advanced video editing capability (Premiere Pro preferred, DaVinci Resolve acceptable)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Photography/videography skills (composition, lighting, audio, hardware management)
  • Understanding of digital design and best practices for web, social, and interactive media
  • Comfortable with media management—workflows and organization
  • Some familiarity with content management systems for web and social media (e.g., Webflow, Hootsuite)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years and/or defense industry experience
  • Strong motion graphics and animation skills (e.g., After Effects)
  • Working knowledge of 3D tools and real-time engines (Unreal Engine)
  • FAA drone license
  • Experience with AI-assisted creative tools
  • Experience managing or building a small studio environment

Hanwha Defense USA is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
