In this role, you’ll help ensure that productions are set up, monitored, recorded, streamed, and delivered with consistency and technical precision. • Support remote recordings and podcast production workflows using Riverside, including setup, monitoring, quality control, and post-production handoff.
  • Assist with live streaming, switching, graphics integration, recording, and monitoring for digital-first productions.
  • Prepare studios, equipment, and remote production environments ahead of recordings, live events, and digital shoots.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues quickly during live and recorded productions to help maintain production quality and minimize disruption.
  • Partner with producers, talent, engineering, editorial, and cross-functional teams to support seamless execution and identify opportunities to improve workflows.
Qualifications

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience supporting live, digital, or media production environments.
  • Hands-on experience operating vMix.
  • Experience using Riverside for remote recording, podcast production, or similar digital production workflows.
  • Familiarity with podcast production workflows, live streaming, and digital-first production environments.
  • Strong understanding of audio and video signal flow.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues under deadline pressure.
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
  • Availability to work on-site in New York, NY, including weekends as needed.

You’ll also bring the behaviors that reflect how we work at Versant:

  • Trust: You take ownership of your work, follow through on commitments, and handle live production responsibilities with care.
  • Teamwork: You collaborate effectively with producers, talent, engineering, editorial, and other partners to deliver a strong final product.
  • Transparency: You communicate clearly about production needs, technical issues, risks, and workflow updates.
  • Agility: You stay calm under pressure, adapt quickly during live or fast-moving productions, and solve problems in real time.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: You are curious about new tools, formats, and workflows, and you look for ways to help strengthen Versant’s digital production capabilities.

Bonus points for experience with livestreams for YouTube, social platforms, or OTT distribution; streaming encoders; production switchers; cloud-based production tools; Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Premiere Pro and Audition; IP-based production workflows such as NDI or SRT; and digital content distribution or social publishing workflows.

Why You’ll Love It Here

You’ll help support a growing digital production operation at Versant, working across live streaming, podcasts, remote recordings, and other digital formats. This is an opportunity to contribute to a fast-moving production environment, collaborate with teams across content and technology, and help bring digital-first programming to life.

This freelance/PEP role is based on-site in New York, NY. The hourly rate is $30/hour.
