What does a freelance video engineer do?

A Freelance Video Engineer is a technical professional who specializes in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting video equipment for live events, broadcasts, or productions. They often work independently with clients to manage video feeds, ensure high-quality recordings, and resolve any technical issues during events. Their responsibilities can include configuring cameras, switchers, streaming software, and audiovisual connections. Freelance Video Engineers may also advise on the best equipment and workflows to achieve the desired video output. Because they work on a contract basis, their projects and clients can vary widely.

Communication is key, as engineers must align with creative visions while ensuring technical feasibility.
