Job description

Creative Director, Consumer Products job at INVIZ. Santa Monica, CA.

Invisible Narratives, the first-of-its-kind tra-digital studio, is looking for a Creative Director to lead brand expression across all licensed categories — from consumer products to interactive platforms to global marketing campaigns. With Skibidi Toilet reshaping how modern IP scales, this is a key creative leadership role with deep hands-on execution responsibilities.

Who We’re Looking For

You’re an artist and a strategist. You can sit down and sketch new character poses for a style guide in the morning — then give high-level creative feedback on a mobile game skin or digital collectible rollout in the afternoon. You’ve developed seasonal visual systems, directed external partners, and helped shape how franchises show up in product, play, and retail.

You come from the world of digital-native IP, gaming, or entertainment licensing — and you know how to build scalable creative systems that protect a brand while pushing it forward. You speak fluently with illustrators, game developers, product leads, and marketers alike.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the development of seasonal style guides, brand packs, and licensing toolkits across toys, apparel, interactive, and consumer products
  • Direct and oversee creative development across interactive partnerships — including video games, mobile apps, UGC platforms, and emerging tech integrations
  • Collaborate with partners to translate our characters and universe into game assets, UI, animations, and skins
  • Create original illustrations, vector assets, and design systems — from product applications to digital promo art
  • Review and approve creative submissions from all licensing partners to ensure quality and brand consistency
  • Lead visual concepting for cross‑channel marketing moments, go‑to‑market strategies, and in‑world brand campaigns
  • Partner with internal marketing, content, and animation teams to align creative direction across media
  • Manage internal designers, freelancers, and creative vendors — giving clear, actionable direction
What You Need
  • 7+ years experience in creative direction for IP-driven brands, games, or entertainment licensing
  • A portfolio that showcases both hands‑on illustration (vector, key art, packaging) and interactive product oversight (games, UI, skins, etc.)
  • Proven experience creating and evolving style guides, brand bibles, and seasonal creative dumps for partners
  • Deep familiarity with the gaming ecosystem — from AAA to indie, mobile to modded
  • Strong understanding of brand-building through marketing campaigns and consumer-facing activations
  • Experience giving creative feedback across product, packaging, digital, and in‑game content
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Comfort navigating animation pipelines, product specs, and game dev workflows

This is a role for someone who can shape a universe — not just by directing it, but by drawing it too. If you’re fluent in licensing, obsessed with games, and still love opening Illustrator to get it right, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.
