The main difference is that a Freelance Test Manager oversees testing projects, manages teams, and coordinates testing efforts independently, often with strategic responsibilities. What are some common challenges Freelance Test Managers face when working with multiple clients simultaneously?

Freelance Test Managers often juggle projects for different clients, which can present challenges such as managing overlapping deadlines, adapting to varied testing tools, and aligning with diverse team cultures and processes. Effective communication and organization are key, as you may need to quickly understand new domains and ensure consistent quality across all engagements. Building strong relationships with client teams and setting clear expectations helps smooth collaboration and prevent misunderstandings.

What are Freelance Test Managers?

Freelance Test Managers are professionals who oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of software testing activities on a contract or project basis rather than as full-time employees. They are responsible for ensuring that software systems meet quality standards and function as intended by managing test teams, defining test strategies, and reporting on test progress. Freelance Test Managers often work with multiple clients, offering flexibility and specialized expertise for various projects. Their work typically involves collaborating with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable software products within deadlines.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Freelance Test Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Freelance Test Manager, you need expertise in software testing methodologies, test planning, and quality assurance, often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with test management tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, and certifications like ISTQB are typically required. Strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently are crucial soft skills for managing remote teams and client expectations. These skills ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software products and client satisfaction in a freelance environment.

Job description

Hi, we are Doonails!
A fast-growing beauty startup revolutionizing the manicure world. With innovative products, a strong community, and a presence in our online shop as well as with leading retail partners, we bring studio quality directly to your home. Simple, fast, and stylish.
We're scaling our influencer marketing to the US market, and for that we're looking for an experienced person who truly knows the game in the US. You'll take ownership of execution, negotiations, bookings, and scaling in a market that operates completely differently from the DACH region.
Your Role & Your Impact
US influencer marketing is run differently than in the DACH region: different negotiation cultures, different CPMs, different creator needs. This is exactly the playing field you know.
You'll start as a freelancer for an initial 3 months. We're looking for someone who hits the ground running.
Your Core Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Campaign Execution: You independently handle bookings and negotiations for the US market based on our existing briefings.
  • Testing & Scaling: You quickly test new creators, identify winning profiles, and build a solid roster of influencers who deliver real performance and revenue.
  • Network Activation: You bring your existing network or concrete profiles of US influencers directly to the table.
  • Deal Structuring: You build tailored offers for US influencers. You know which links, whitelisting rights, and compensation models actually work in the US market.
  • Performance Tracking: You work data-driven.

What You'll Bring to the Table
  • Experience: 4 years in influencer marketing with at least 1 year of proven, successful experience in the US market
  • Track Record: With well-known performance and beauty brands
  • US Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of US CPMs, negotiation strategies, and the mindset and needs of US creators
  • Performance Focus: Experience in data-driven influencer marketing. Working toward budget targets and ROAS comes naturally to you.
  • Strong Negotiation Skills: You're confident negotiating complex deals
  • Communication: Excellent English skills, written and verbal

What We Offer
  • Competitive pay, tailored to your qualifications and experience
  • A true ownership role with a high degree of trust and room to shape things your way
  • Growth potential: take on responsibility and bring your ideas directly to the table
