Experienced Test and Evaluation (T&E) Practitioner
HII is seeking an experienced T&E professional to support T&E across the Department of War and Homeland Security.
What do we do?
Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) is seeking an experienced T&E practitioner for the Scientific Test and Analysis Techniques Center of Excellence (STAT COE), located at Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
This is a senior technical position integrated with various acquisition program test teams to develop test strategies, implement rigorous test designs, and conduct post-test analysis. We are at the forefront of applying advanced test planning/execution techniques to T&E and are constantly exploring new methodologies. This is a technical practitioner role, not a management position. The ideal candidate has demonstrated acquisition T&E experience and a desire to learn and apply rigorous test planning methods.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Provide T&E consulting expertise to acquisition programs and research projects
    • Lead development of test strategies, technical test designs, and post-test analysis
    • Employ and apply rigorous test design types such as design of experiments (DOE)
    • Engage and mentor T&E practitioners in Scientific Test and Analysis Techniques
    • Note: Technical skills related to DOE will be taught on-the-job if you have the desire to learn
  • Support special studies for topics of interest to DoD senior leadership like
    • T&E of/using artificial intelligence and machine learning
    • Employing quantitative methods to validate models and simulations
    • Methodical T&E of cyber-physical systems
    • Rigorous methods applied to testing autonomous systems
  • Communicate solutions to leadership orally and in writing
  • Author best practices and case studies for sponsor and T&E community

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, applied math, operations research, or similar
  • 8 years practical Department of War or Homeland Security T&E experience
  • 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Clearance:
    • Active SECRET clearance minimum (at time of application/consideration) and ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance
  • US Citizen

Preferred Requirements
  • Master's degree in engineering, statistics, applied math, operations research, or similar
  • Experience with Defense or Homeland Security acquisition
  • Active TOP SECRET clearance
