What is a freelance search engine evaluator?

A Freelance Search Engine Evaluator is a remote, part-time role where individuals assess search engine results for relevance, accuracy, and quality. Evaluators follow specific guidelines to rate search queries, webpages, and ads to improve search engine algorithms. The job requires analytical skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with current internet trends. No prior experience is usually needed, but fluency in the required language and passing an initial qualification test are necessary. This role offers flexible hours but is often project-based with no long-term guarantees.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a freelance search engine evaluator?

To thrive as a Freelance Search Engine Evaluator, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in written English, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with web browsers, search engines, online research tools, and proprietary rating platforms is typically required for this role. Excellent time management, self-motivation, and the ability to follow detailed guidelines make candidates stand out. These skills and qualities are vital for consistently delivering high-quality, unbiased results in a remote, deadline-driven environment.

What does a typical workday look like for a freelance search engine evaluator?

As a Freelance Search Engine Evaluator, your typical day involves reviewing search engine results, evaluating their relevance and quality using specific company guidelines, and providing detailed feedback through an online platform. Most of the work is done independently and remotely, allowing you to set a flexible schedule based on your availability, though there are usually minimum weekly hour requirements. You may encounter repetitive tasks and must maintain focus and consistency across assignments, but the position can be ideal for those who value autonomy and variety in their daily tasks. While collaboration is minimal, you may occasionally communicate with project managers or participate in briefings to ensure you are updated on any changes to evaluation guidelines. Over time, strong performance in this role can lead to opportunities for additional projects or more advanced roles within the company.

Job description

The leading voice AI platform for enterprises automating millions of customer calls.

We're building the infrastructure layer that lets businesses run phone conversations through AI โ€” think inbound support, outbound sales, appointment booking โ€” at massive scale. Voice AI is hitting an inflection point, and the companies that win organic discovery right now will define the category for the next decade. This role owns that outcome. You'll architect the SEO foundation for a product that tens of thousands of developers and ops teams are actively searching for, shaping everything from content architecture to programmatic landing pages to the narrative we put into the world. It's a playerโ€‘coach seat: you'll set strategy, build the content engine, and write some of the highestโ€‘signal pieces yourself.

What we're looking for:
  • 5+ years driving organic growth for a B2B SaaS or developerโ€‘tool product, with a portfolio of measurable traffic and signup wins
  • Deep fluency in technical SEO (site architecture, indexing, schema, page speed diagnostics) paired with strong editorial judgment
  • Comfort using data from Google Search Console, Analytics, and CRM sources to identify highโ€‘intent topics and measure pipeline impact
  • Experience scaling content programs โ€” managing freelancers, editing for precision, and maintaining a sharp, consistent brand voice
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously in an earlyโ€‘stage environment where priorities shift and speed of execution matters
  • Must be based in the United States.
Tech stack:

Google Search, Google Analytics
