Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc.(AMA)is seeking aScience Engagement SpecialistforEarthRISEDevelopers Academy. This position islocatedat Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA andwill provide knowledge management services supporting science knowledge production, delivery, and reporting.EarthRISEDevelopers Academy, part of NASA'sScience Mission Directorate Earth ActionProgram, addresses environmental and public policy issues through interdisciplinary research projects that apply the lens of NASA Earth observations to community concernsacross the nation.AMAprovidesEarthRISEDevelopers Academylocations direct science support and science and technical coordination.

TheScience Engagement Specialist will develop compelling visual and written communications that translate complex scientific and technical information into accessible, engaging content for diverse audiences. This position combinesexpertisein graphic design, visual storytelling, and science communication to support research dissemination, education, outreach, marketing, and public engagement initiatives.The Science Engagement Specialist willalsosupport the organization of presentations to deliver research results at diverse forums,as well as internal,upward,and outward communication highlights aboutEarthRISEDevelopers Academy to NASA Earth Action, Satellite Needs, NASA Langley Research Center, and Science Directorateleadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor'sDegree inGraphic Design, Visual Communications, Science Communication, Journalism, Communications, or a STEM-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 2or more years of experiencein graphic design, science communication, research communications, or a related field

  • Experience designing print and digital communications, including brochures, reports, scientific posters, presentations, newsletters, web graphics, social media content, and infographics

  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, branding, and visual hierarchy, as well as the ability to align with an agency style guide

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills for scientific and general audiences

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines andmaintainingattention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse team members or in multidiscipline collaborations

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or Legal Permanent Resident (LPR)

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail

  • Self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Resilient and good under pressure
