Portsmouth Catholic Regional School is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and dedicated Art Teacher for Early Learners through 8th Grade for the 2026-2027 school year.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about the visual arts and committed to inspiring creativity and self-expression in students. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, inclusive, and positive classroom environment where students are encouraged to explore their creativity, develop artistic skills, and grow in confidence. The Art Teacher will serve as a positive role model and support the mission and values of Catholic education.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate art lessons for students from Early Learners through 8th Grade.
  • Teach a variety of artistic techniques, processes, and media appropriate to each age group.
  • Encourage creativity, self-expression, confidence, and artistic growth.
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where every student is encouraged to participate and succeed.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and well-managed art classroom.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback that encourages continued growth.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
  • Encourage students to recognize and appreciate their own creativity and the work of others.
  • Prepare and organize student artwork for classroom displays, school events, and special celebrations.
