Job description

We are seeking a Senior SAP Commerce Cloud/Hybris Developer to develop and modernize enterprise commerce solutions using Java, Spring, APIs, event-driven integrations, and durable workflow orchestration. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building reliable, scalable, and production-ready systems.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and support SAP Commerce Cloud/Hybris solutions using Java and Spring.

  • Build integrations using OCC, REST APIs, Kafka, databases, and external services.

  • Design durable workflows for cart, order, inventory, and recovery processes.

  • Implement workflow patterns including retries, idempotency, timeouts, compensation, events, cancellation, and failure recovery.

  • Manage workflow versioning, task queues, concurrency, rate limits, and operational visibility.

  • Develop automated tests for workflows, integrations, replay, and failure scenarios.

  • Troubleshoot SAP Commerce performance issues involving FlexibleSearch, caching, persistence, TaskEngine, Kafka, and databases.

  • Apply AI-assisted development and context engineering to coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.

  • Build reusable AI instructions, agent skills, MCP integrations, and validation guardrails.

Required Skills
  • Senior-level experience with SAP Commerce Cloud/Hybris or a similar commerce platform.

  • Strong Java and Spring development experience.

  • Experience with React.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.

  • Hands-on experience with a durable workflow platform such as Temporal, Cadence, Azure Durable Functions, AWS Step Functions, or Conductor.

  • Strong knowledge of workflow determinism, replay, idempotency, retries, Saga/compensation patterns, timers, events, and versioning.

  • Experience with Kafka or similar event-driven messaging platforms.

  • Strong experience with automated testing, debugging, performance optimization, and production support.

  • Experience using AI coding assistants or agentic development tools.

Preferred Skills
  • Temporal Java SDK and Temporal worker/task queue experience.

  • SAP Commerce 2211, Java 21, and Spring 6.

  • Protobuf and schema evolution.

  • Kubernetes, Azure, OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, and centralized logging.

  • Experience with AI agents, MCP servers, agent skills, or RAG-based development systems.
