Job description

Overview

As a Senior Automated Test Engineer, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice delivering quality assurance services to support application and data systems development in an AI-enabled software development environment. We are looking for candidates with experience with quality assurance and test automation practices in an Agile/DevSecOps work environment, with the ability to support manual testing as needed.

Contributions

Responsibilities include:

  • Understand the needs of stakeholders and convey requirements to developers
  • Meet with product design teams to determine testing parameters
  • Write test plans, create test cases, test procedures, bug reports, and final QA reports for products
  • Take ownership of an automation framework around several Salesforce applications in a shared Org
  • Create and manage automated test cases within Salesforce utilizing Selenium
  • Manage test data architecture definition and requests
  • Troubleshoot errors and streamline test procedures
  • Test and examine code written by others and analyze results, including:
    • Data validation testing
    • Functional testing
    • Performance and load testing
    • Usability testing
    • Accessibility (508) testing
  • Establish automated testing tools and infrastructure for test automation
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cucumber JVM, TestNG, and Selenium
  • Develop and execute API tests using TestNG and related tooling
  • Perform performance and load testing using tools such as JMeter
  • Provide manual testing support for functional validation, exploratory testing, and edge case scenarios, as needed
  • Provide validation testing of different systems and data sets
  • Develop automated testing scripts considering parallelization and idempotency
  • Automate and improve development, testing, and release processes
  • Ensure systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Work with software developers and engineers to ensure development follows established processes and works as intended
  • Experience debugging test failures and identifying root cause
  • Work with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and tools
  • Utilize tools such as Jira or Rally for story tracking
  • Work within CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Harness and GitLab
  • Develop and maintain test code using Java and modern IDEs such as VS Code
  • Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Present regular status updates and provide cross-training to other team members
  • Act as an individual contributor and mentor junior team members
Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience; OR
    • Master's degree and 8+ years of experience; OR
    • Associate's degree and 12+ years of experience; OR
    • No degree and 14+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Git SCM providers such as GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket
  • 3+ years of experience implementing test automation using tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, specifically usage within a traditional Salesforce application
  • 3+ years of experience with one or more programming or scripting languages
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts in Java
  • Experience with API testing using frameworks such as RestAssured
  • Ability to perform both automated and manual testing across the software development lifecycle
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with performance and load testing (e.g., JMeter)
  • Experience with testing Salesforce utilizing Selenium
  • Experience with accessibility (Section 508) testing tools such as ANDI or Axe
  • Experience working with Jira or Rally for test and requirements management
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Harness
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments
