Now Hiring: School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) | San Jose, CA | $70/Hour

Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students? We are seeking a dedicated School-Based Occupational Therapist for a full-time, 36-week contract in San Jose, California. This unique opportunity provides continuity of care for students while supporting maternity leave coverage across multiple elementary school sites.

Position Highlights

? Competitive Pay: $70/Hour
? Supportive and Collaborative Special Education Team

Assignment Details

This position will initially provide maternity leave coverage beginning in August, allowing for an overlap period to ensure a smooth transition of services. In January, responsibilities will shift to support another OT team member taking maternity leave. All assigned school sites are located within San Jose.

Current Caseload

• Approximately 35 students
• 32 direct service students and 3 consult students
• Primarily students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Additional eligibility categories include:

  • Speech Language Impairment
  • Other Health Impairment
  • Visual Impairment
  • Specific Learning Disability
Student Support Needs

• 20 students with moderate to severe support needs
• 12 students with mild to moderate support needs

Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapist will:

  • Conduct student evaluations and assessments
  • Develop individualized therapy plans
  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with IEP requirements
  • Support students in achieving educational and functional goals
Required Qualifications

? Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of California
? School-based OT experience or Level II OT Fieldwork experience in a school setting
? One year of professional OT experience preferred
? Current CPR certification if applicable
? Must meet all state, federal, and local requirements
? TB screening and health documentation as required
? Must be at least 18 years of age

The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for performing student evaluations, developing and providing therapy services, and documenting services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each student.   

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of practice 
  • One (1) year of prior professional Occupational Therapy experience preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR if applicable 
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
