About the Role

MrBeast is looking for a Set Technician, responsible for executing and leading camera, assistant camera, rigging, grip, and video utility functions during production. This on-set technical role combines hands-on technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and on-set leadership to support complex multi-camera productions and ensure cinematic results are delivered safely, efficiently, and consistently.

Working closely with Directors of Photography, Production leadership, Lighting teams, Video Engineering, and freelance crews, the Set Technician serves as a critical technical resource responsible for maintaining production readiness, minimizing downtime, and enabling ambitious creative execution.

What You'll Do
  • Operate cameras across handheld, tripod, dolly, gimbal, crane, and specialty-mounted configurations
  • Build, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot complete camera packages and support systems
  • Execute assistant camera functions including camera setup, media management, lens changes, and focus support
  • Verify camera settings, media status, power systems, and technical readiness prior to filming
  • Set up, operate, and strike camera rigs, dollies, cranes, gimbals, sliders, tracking systems, and specialty builds
  • Build and secure rigging systems including speed rail structures, vehicle rigs, overhead rigs, and specialty mounts
  • Support Video Engineering through monitor deployment, signal routing, cable management, wireless video systems, and power distribution
  • Troubleshoot technical issues involving cameras, lenses, wireless video systems, rigging, power systems, and monitoring infrastructure
  • Coordinate with Directors of Photography, Lighting teams, Set Leads, and Video Engineering to execute complex production setups
  • Provide guidance and direction to freelance crew members and temporary technicians
  • Maintain continuity through accurate camera builds, settings verification, labeling, metadata, and equipment organization
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures related to rigging, lifting, electrical systems, equipment movement, and production operations
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of professional experience supporting camera, grip, rigging, or video operations within film, television, commercial, live event, or digital production environments
  • Demonstrated experience operating and supporting professional cinema camera systems and production equipment
  • Experience building, configuring, and troubleshooting camera packages and support systems
  • Strong understanding of grip equipment, rigging techniques, mounting systems, and production safety practices
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in high-pressure production environments
  • Experience working effectively across multiple production departments
  • Ability to lift, move, and safely operate production equipment throughout extended production days
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently for production assignments
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting multi-camera productions
  • Experience with wireless video transmission systems and on-set monitoring workflows
