• Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
• Provide crisis intervention services and collaborate with clinical teams to create pre-crisis and crisis management plans.
• Complete and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory standards to ensure compliance and quality of care.
• Utilize evidence-based screening tools to guide treatment decisions and assess client progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement positive behavior support plans that enhance client well-being.
• Engage actively in licensing and accreditation processes, ensuring best practices in service delivery.
• Serve as a liaison between clients, community partners, and state agencies to navigate service systems effectively.
• Establish and sustain communication channels with local and federal agencies, identifying opportunities for partnerships and program funding.
• Pursue ongoing professional development by participating in conferences, workshops, and state meetings relevant to mental health.
• Promote the organizational mission and values within the community and during patient interactions.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Clinic Director.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at MedicAid, you will engage with a diverse clientele, including youth and families facing mental health challenges, substance use recovery issues, and individuals living with developmental disabilities. Your work will directly impact their emotional health and quality of life, allowing you to witness first-hand the significant progress made through your therapeutic interventions.

• A Master’s Degree in a behavioral health field is required.
• Current LMHC license granted by the state board of New York.
• Proven ability to maintain clinical records and prepare comprehensive reports aligned with regulatory standards.
• Experience in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team setting is highly valued.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate clinical concepts clearly and engage clients effectively.
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to make informed, independent decisions.

• Experience working with clients who have experienced trauma or have complex mental health challenges.
• Previous roles within community health settings or knowledge of community resources related to mental health.
• Familiarity with electronic health records and outcome tracking methodologies.
