Requirement - AI Pricing Analyst

Location- USA Remote

Contract W2

Top Must Haves:

  • Strong experience in pricing analysis or financial modeling
  • Experience building pricing models and forecasting scenarios
  • Ability to analyze market trends and competitive positioning
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
  • Experience working with cross functional teams including finance, sales, and product
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate insights to stakeholders

Description:

Overview: AI Pricing Analyst, which is a new role for their org, to develop standardized pricing models for their AI products. They are a Solutions firm, but have built an agentic AI solution on Microsoft Azure AI (Foundry), agents developed with a government services focus state, local agents right now and expanding into commercial products.

AI Pricing Analyst:

  • Current pricing state: they have no clear, governed costing model for their AI solution. Today it is largely client-driven, they have seen proposals with no clear line item for technology, for example. Others that are more subscription-based, number of users. Others are a flat line item for technology without accounting for the nuance of AI products (token usage, compute costs, inference costs, LLM costs).
  • Their lack of centralized and governed costing is leading to fundamental operational and financial challenges.
  • There will still be some difference between customers - particular modules, customizations, etc. but do need a standard "backbone" to price their product.
  • This person will work internally with teams developing proposals, accounts, but will have very little-to-no interaction directly with customers.
  • A new role to the market generally, but thinks candidates should come from a traditional Cost/Pricing Analyst background, maybe Statistician or Quant Analyst, Project Estimator. Open to different backgrounds.
  • Does not need to be hands-on technical - adept at Excel, but would not require overly-complex modeling, but rather basic macros. Does not need SQL, Python, or AI build experience at all.
  • Technical depth would come more from knowledge of AI platforms - cloud cost structures, compute costs, token costing, inference, LLM cost and the ability to build different pricing models that are token-based/consumption pricing; tiered or outcomes-based, scenario modeling for different structures (margins at various usage volumes, for example) to recommend the right solution.

Project Details:

This role will support pricing strategy for AI enabled solutions, including developing pricing models, analyzing market data, and supporting deal level pricing decisions. The individual will partner closely with finance, sales, and product teams to drive profitability and competitive positioning across offerings.

Job Description:

The AI Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies for AI products and services. This role leverages financial analysis, market research, and competitive benchmarking to guide pricing decisions and support business goals.

Responsibilities include building pricing models, conducting financial scenario analysis, and evaluating pricing performance. The individual will work closely with internal teams to support deal pricing, assess value based pricing opportunities, and improve pricing processes through analytics and automation.

This position also focuses on identifying opportunities to improve margin performance and providing data driven recommendations to leadership.
