Job Description

Role: Global Network Engineer

Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Network and Communications, the successful candidate will lead the design, testing, and initial deployment of network, security, voice, wireless, and cloud networking infrastructure across global IKO locations. This role focuses on Level 3 support, developing proofs of concept, implementing new technologies, and creating comprehensive documentation for the Network Operations team. The successful candidate will use advanced technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities to ensure solutions align with business requirements and global IT standards.

This position is based fully onsite at our Agawam, Massachusetts office location.

Compensation: $100,000-$116,000

Job Responsibilities

Design and implement network, security, voice, wireless, and cloud networking infrastructure in accordance with business requirements and established global IT standards
Design and support Azure cloud networking solutions, including Azure Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, VPN gateways, and hybrid-cloud connectivity
Provide Level 3 support and diagnose complex network, security, voice, Aruba Wireless, and Aruba Central issues using established tools and processes
Develop proofs of concept and evaluate new network, security, wireless, voice, and cloud technologies
Implement and support switching and routing infrastructure, including BGP, OSPF, RIP, and SD-WAN technologies
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba switches, wireless access points, and related network security technologies
Coordinate with vendors regarding service changes, hardware and software orders, technical support, and implementation activities
Create and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, policies, network diagrams, and standard processes
Implement and monitor security solutions, standards, and policies in accordance with IKO's Information Security Framework
Assist with investigations of potential security breaches as a member of the incident management team
Represent the network, security, voice, wireless, and cloud networking functions during internal and external audits
Support the development and testing of Business Continuity Plans for network and cloud networking infrastructure
Provide technical guidance to the Network Operations team and other IT stakeholders
Travel to IKO locations within North America and Europe as required
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Global Network and Communications

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
7-10 years of experience designing and managing large enterprise networks, data center systems, and network architecture
3-5 years of experience supporting Microsoft Azure in a hybrid environment, including designing cloud networking solutions
Expert-level knowledge of enterprise switching and routing technologies, particularly BGP and OSPF
Hands-on experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls
Experience with HP Networking, Aruba switches, Aruba access points, Aruba Wireless, and Aruba Central
Experience designing Azure Virtual Networks, VPN gateways, ExpressRoute, and hybrid-cloud connectivity
Experience with SD-WAN technologies and enterprise load-balancing solutions such as A10 or F5
Experience evaluating data center and cloud networking trends and developing related hardware and software standards
Strong knowledge of network diagnostic and administration tools, including Nmap, Wireshark, SSH, SCP, Telnet, and FTP
Knowledge of Microsoft network protocols and technologies, including SMB, CIFS, MAPI, ActiveSync, and SQL
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, Proofpoint, Citrix NetScaler, Citrix XenMobile MDM, and VMware
Experience developing or supporting Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans
Strong problem-solving, technical documentation, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to lead technical discussions, collaborate across departments, and influence technical decisions
Ability to maintain best-practice standards while driving innovation in network and cloud networking solutions
Knowledge of French, or a willingness to develop French-language skills, is considered an asset
Ability to travel approximately 10% within North America and Europe
Valid driver's license
