Senior Hardware Developer

Join the Rock 'n Roll Scientists at Softube in Linkoping, Sweden and help us craft and tell the Softube story! Softube is a dynamic, fast-growing company on a mission-to find the best way to make music with a computer, using our scientific wizardry and our love for music. We are looking for an experienced and talented hardware developer that fits into that story and can help us succeed in our mission.

Position Details and Application

The position is full-time, on-site at the Softube headquarters in Linkoping Sweden, and we would like to fill this position as soon as possible. International applicants currently based in Sweden are very welcome to apply for this role, many of our current employees are from other countries than Sweden, and English is spoken at the office.

Job Description

This position offers a unique opportunity to be in the forefront of bringing Softube's new hardware-related product ideas into life. We are looking for someone with at least 10 years of experience within the field of hardware development with first-hand experience working with hardware production. The job means taking on a large part of the responsibility of the hardware development and an important part of the job is being the main point of contact for Softube when it comes to hardware-related questions both internally and externally. Other tasks include, among other things, embedded software development, EMC testing and evaluation, planning and leading PCB design, layout, and initial board bring-up for new hardware units and performing measurements on units and components using measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analysers. You would be responsible for the start of pre-production and mass production of new hardware units as well as new revisions of existing ones, on-site if needed. This means that the job involves travelling for parts of the year. As a person you should be technically skilled and talented, analytical and be able to cope with difficult problems both on your own and as part of a team. You also need to have a sense of "the big picture" and bring a long-term perspective to the development process.

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant degree (for example a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering).
  • At least 10 years working with hardware development.
  • First-hand experience of hardware production.
  • Very good knowledge of electronics.
  • Good knowledge of mechanics.
  • Good knowledge of C.
  • Experience working with embedded software development.
  • Good understanding of different CPU architectures.
  • English language, both in text and speech.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Zephyr and/or similar real-time operating systems.
  • Arena PLM and/or similar PLM/PDM systems.
  • Python.
  • C++.
  • Git.
  • C#.
  • Databases and SQL.
  • Experience working with large projects and/or codebases.
