Description

The Marketing Intern will be a paid, part-time position to support Browning's companywide marketing, communications, and business development initiatives. The role is hybrid with the ability to work on some projects remotely but can also require being in-person at Browning's Indianapolis office, with occasional project visits, company events, and community activities in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio.

Anticipated start date of late August or early September 2026, continuing through December 2027, with a schedule coordinated around academic and business needs, averaging approximately 8-16 hours per week.

Working directly with the Director of Marketing, this person will gain hands-on experience across development, construction, property services, digital communications, marketing collateral, research, events, and Browning's 50th anniversary campaign. The company expects this person to be curious, dependable, and motivated to grow professionally while contributing meaningful work to the organization.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

Content and Brand

Develop content for Browning's website, LinkedIn page, internal communications, and other marketing channels.

  • Gather project updates, photos, milestones, and stories from across the company.
  • Support Browning's 50th anniversary campaign and other companywide marketing initiatives.
  • Assist with photography, video, graphic design, and content production based on experience and interest.
  • Review marketing materials for accuracy and brand consistency.

Marketing Systems and Performance

  • Ensure marketing information across digital platforms and collateral is up-to-date.
  • Track social media performance, website activity, campaign results, and other marketing metrics.

Research, Events, and Project Support

  • Conduct market, competitor, project, and industry research.
  • Support proposal and qualifications materials through research, coordination, proofreading, and quality control.
  • Assist with company events, employee engagement activities, community partnerships, and volunteer initiatives.
  • Support the Director of Marketing with coordination and special projects as needed.

Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, graphic design, business, or a related field, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
  • Previous internship, campus organization, volunteer, freelance, or class-project experience related to marketing or communications preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, WordPress, social media platforms, photography, video editing, or digital asset management systems is a plus.
  • Previous commercial real estate or construction experience is not required, but an understanding of B2B marketing principles would be helpful.

SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

The ideal candidate will be smart, curious, take ownership, communicate early, and care about the quality of the work.

  • Strong writer with excellent attention to detail
  • Organized, dependable, and responsive
  • Comfortable asking questions and seeking clarification when needed
  • Receptive to direct feedback and able to incorporate revisions quickly
  • Comfortable taking ownership, working independently, adapting as priorities shift
  • Collaborative and willing to jump in, share ideas, and help move work forward
