Shape Precision Parts That Power Healthcare

At Marshall Manufacturing, your expertise in Swiss-type CNC will turn complex prints into flawless reality. As a Swiss‑Type CNC Set‑Up Specialist, you’ll own set-ups, keep production humming, and ensure every component meets exacting standards for medical applications.

A day in the life

You begin by reviewing prints and GD&T callouts, confirming tooling, and preparing Citizen or Tornos sliding‑headstock machines. You load or write CNC programs as needed, complete tool changes, and run production. Throughout the shift, you verify dimensions with micrometers, calipers, and a pressure micrometer, inspect under a microscope, and adjust offsets. You’ll perform preventative maintenance to sustain consistent performance, troubleshoot production problems, implement solutions, and clearly communicate machine activity and operational requirements to operators.

  • Set-up Swiss CNC machines
  • Operating Swiss CNC machines
  • Perform quality inspection on completed parts
  • Perform preventative maintenance on Swiss CNC machines to ensure consistent machine performance
  • Complete tool changes
  • Troubleshoot production problems and implement solutions
  • Determine/verify appropriate tooling for use in machining and manufacturing operations
What you bring
  • Set-up experience with Swiss CNC machines
  • Operator experience with Swiss CNC machines
  • Strong math background, preferable in machine math/shop math
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Able to read and interpret prints
  • Experience using a microscope
  • Able to read measurement equipment such as micrometer, caliper, pressure micrometer
  • Machining experience with medical components, devices, or instruments
  • Previous experience with tight tolerances
  • Programming experience with Swiss CNC Machines
  • Experience in troubleshooting of Swiss CNC Machines
  • Familiar with Citizen and Tornos equipment
  • Able to read and write CNC programs (as needed)
  • Communicate operation/machine activity requirements to operators
  • Previous experience in the medical manufacturing industry is a plus
