Job description

Step into a rewarding role focused on shaping young minds in mathematics as an 8th Grade Math Teacher for a full-time, onsite opportunity. You'll be working within a supportive middle school environment, guiding students through essential math concepts and cultivating academic growth. This contract position runs from August 17 through May 27, 2027, and includes two openings—one of which requires dual language skills.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a closely related field
  • A valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate math endorsement(s)
  • Experience designing curriculum and crafting engaging lesson plans tailored to varied learning needs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A particular strength in 8th grade math instruction
  • For the dual language opening, proficiency in both English and a second language is required

Your primary duties will include:

  • Delivering comprehensive 8th grade math instruction aligned with curriculum standards
  • Developing lesson plans that encourage analytical thinking and problem-solving
  • Assessing student progress and adjusting instruction to meet diverse needs
  • Collaborating with colleagues to enhance curriculum and share effective teaching strategies
