Experience and Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred
  2. Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience, preferably in Mathematics and/or ELA.
  3. Pennsylvania Level II teacher certification
  4. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  5. Computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite
  6. Ability to collaborate with other staff members and is a team player
  7. Be energetic and proactive
  8. Excellent problem solving and conflict de-escalation skills
  9. Possess patience and diplomacy skills
  10. Act 34 Clearance, Act 151 Clearance, FBI Clearance (self-paid)
  11. Act 126 and Act 71 training certificates
  12. Drug screening (self-paid)
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Curriculum Support
 
  • Serve as the key resource person for ELA/Social Studies content programming
  • Ensure implementation of grade level Pennsylvania Core Standards across all classrooms and grade levels for ELA and Social Studies
  • Attend and participate in Curriculum Committee/Team sessions and/or facilitation of core instructional strategies for ELA and Social Studies resources
  • Assist with curriculum mapping for academic subject areas as a member of the curriculum writing team.
  • Serve as a liaison for Supervisor of Instruction for ELA and Social Studies relating to district-wide initiative implementation in all grade levels
 
Teacher Support
 
  • Model evidence-based best practices for classroom teachers
  • Provide demonstration lessons and coaching for content teachers in ELA and Social Studies
  • Conduct non-evaluation observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
 
Professional Development/PLC Support
 
  • Support the District and building administration in the implementation of Professional Development/Professional Learning Communities across grade levels for ELA and Social Studies
  • Assist and lead development and implementation of school and District-level professional development
 
Data and Assessment Support
 
  • Serve as a liaison for District and common assessments administered at the building level
  • Coordinate testing schedules, materials and oversight of school team in administration of the assessment
  • Engage in data analysis and creating coaching and feedback cycles for teachers, based on key assessment data
 
Miscellaneous Responsibilities
 
  • Support implementation of online/distance learning programs and professional development, as needed, based upon District-wide goals and priorities 
  • Support intervention program implemented at the building-level
  • Attend school leadership meetings as directed by building administration
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor of building administration
