Freelance infographics designers often juggle multiple client projects simultaneously, which can make managing deadlines and client expectations a key challenge. Each client may have different branding guidelines, communication styles, and revision processes, requiring adaptability and strong organizational skills. Additionally, freelancers must frequently clarify project briefs to ensure the final design effectively communicates the intended message. Building clear contracts and maintaining open communication can help minimize misunderstandings and scope creep.

What are freelance infographics?

Freelance infographics refer to visual representations of information, data, or knowledge that are created by independent designers or illustrators who work on a project basis rather than as full-time employees. These freelancers use graphic design tools to turn complex information into easy-to-understand visuals for clients in various industries. Businesses hire freelance infographic designers to improve communication, marketing, and engagement with their target audience. Freelancers may work remotely and manage multiple clients, offering flexibility and specialized design skills.

To thrive as a Freelance Infographics Designer, you need strong graphic design skills, proficiency in visual storytelling, and a solid portfolio demonstrating your work. Mastery of design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and online tools like Canva or Piktochart is typically required. Excellent communication, creativity, and time management skills help you understand client needs and deliver compelling visuals on schedule. These competencies are crucial for producing impactful, data-driven graphics that effectively engage audiences and meet client objectives.

Job description

Infleqtion is a global quantum technology company solving the world's most challenging problems. The company harnesses quantum mechanics to build and integrate quantum computers, sensors, and networks. From fundamental physics to leading-edge commercial products, Infleqtion enables "quantum everywhere" through our ecosystem of devices and platforms. Our mission is to commercialize atom-based quantum products that provide orders-of-magnitude improvements in performance and computing applications.

The Brand & Creative Director owns Infleqtion's brand and creates consistent, creative, and memorable visual experiences across all channels. This role brings the company's vision to life through high-impact, multi-channel content from campaigns to digital assets, supporting multiple audiences and product teams. This is a hands-on individual contributor role that will leverage freelance creatives and agency services to scale. This is an opportunity to set the creative direction for a fast-growing and dynamic organization in a competitive and exciting market.

Requirements

  • Develop and execute creative assets and brand campaigns across digital, social, and traditional media.
  • Source and produce multi-format assets: videos, infographics, presentations, display advertising/OOH, animations, and other visuals for key market audiences (retail investors, national security, quantum ecosystem).
  • Set and maintain brand consistency, tone, and style across all assets.
  • Partner with agencies, freelancers, and internal stakeholders to deliver best-in-class design and visual storytelling.
  • Leverage AI tools and leading design technologies for cutting-edge design execution and production.
  • Track KPIs: production efficiency, engagement impact, and brand consistency metrics.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years in creative production or design management.
  • In-house experience developing visual identity and design systems for high-tech B2B.
  • Strong creative direction and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into engaging creative narratives.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience writing compelling headline and tagline copy to fully communicate visual narratives.
  • Experience in quantum, AI, or other highly complex scientific/technology industries.
  • Portfolio with brand work required for application to be considered.
Travel

Up to 10% travel may be required.

Equal Opportunity

Regardless of your interest in the quantum industry, you can take pride in the fact that Infleqtion is building an ecosystem of quantum technologies and commercial products, driving the industry towards the future. Studies reveal that while men apply for jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the requirements, women and other groups tend to apply only when they meet all the criteria.
