What is a freelance ICC building inspector?

Freelance ICC Building Inspectors are independent professionals who assess buildings and construction projects to ensure they comply with the International Code Council (ICC) standards and local building codes. Unlike inspectors employed directly by a government agency or company, freelancers work on a contract basis for various clients, such as contractors, homeowners, or municipalities. Their duties typically include reviewing construction plans, conducting on-site inspections, and documenting compliance or violations. They must hold appropriate ICC certifications for the types of inspections they perform and keep up with code changes.

Freelance ICC Building Inspectors often encounter challenges such as managing a variable workload, keeping up with code updates, and coordinating with multiple clients or contractors.
