Job description

POSITION PURPOSE The Clinical Informatics Analyst (RN) serves as the nursing informatics leader supporting clinical excellence across the patient care departments of the hospital. This role functions as the primary nursing liaison for Meditech Expanse, ensuring the Electronic Health Record (E.H.R.) supports safe, efficient, and compliant patient care. The Clinical Informatics Specialist collaborates closely with nursing leadership, providers, clinics, and ancillary departments to optimize documentation, clinical workflows, regulatory reporting, and clinical decision support tools.MINIMUM MANDATORY qualifications Experience:
  • Three (3) years of clinical or healthcare experience
 
  • Bachelors Degree (or higher) in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
  • Ability to be on call, weekend, holiday, evening and/or nighttime work in any situation deemed important to serve direct patient care providers and inpatient care departments as needed.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively self-direct work priorities.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, writing, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of clinical practice and workflows to evaluate clinical functions appropriate for information system applications and ensure alignment with professional standards of care.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, implement, and complete projects within established timelines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical application support teams, IT personnel, and end users.
  • Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting clinical software applications.
  • Proficiency in personal computer and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Excellent training and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
  • Working knowledge and technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated history of satisfactory job performance, supported by positive employment references.
  • i,  Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Mexico or a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
Preferred qualifications
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Nursing Informatics, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Experience supporting or administering the MEDITECH Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Experience with MEDITECH module configuration, workflow design, and clinical system optimization.
  • Knowledge of clinical information system implementation, upgrades, and change management processes.
  • Experience developing reports, data extracts, and dashboards within MEDITECH or other clinical reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards and interoperability concepts (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
  • Experience with clinical quality reporting, regulatory reporting, or performance improvement initiatives.
  • Prior experience in clinical informatics, clinical systems' analysis, or healthcare IT support.
  • Experience designing and delivering end-user training for clinical information systems.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements related to electronic health records, documentation, and data security (e.g., HIPAA compliance).
  • Professional certification in Nursing Informatics or healthcare informatics (e.g., ANCC Informatics Nursing Certification) preferred.
