Excavator Operator

Pickles Plumbing, Electrical & HVAC – Kansas City Metro Area

Pickles Plumbing, Electrical & HVAC is looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team! We are a family-owned and operated company that believes in taking care of our employees while providing exceptional service to our customers. What You'll Do

Operate excavators, skid steers, backhoes, and other heavy equipment
Dig and excavate trenches for underground plumbing and sewer lines
Install and repair water lines, sewer lines, and underground plumbing
Locate and safely expose existing utility lines
Prepare trenches for proper pipe installation and grading
Remove dirt, concrete, and other materials during excavation
Backfill and compact trenches after plumbing work is completed
Assist plumbers with underground plumbing installations and repairs
Work around residential and commercial properties
Read and follow excavation plans, measurements, and utility layouts
Maintain and perform basic inspections of equipment
Help load, unload, and transport equipment and materials
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
Follow OSHA and job-site safety procedures
Communicate with plumbers, supervisors, and other crew members
Occasionally assist with general plumbing/construction tasks as needed

Qualifications

2+ years of experience operating excavators, backhoes, skid steers, or similar equipment
Experience digging trenches and underground lines
Experience with sewer, water, plumbing, or underground utility work
Ability to safely operate heavy equipment around existing utility lines
Experience with pipe installation or underground construction
Ability to read basic measurements, grades, and layouts
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials
Strong awareness of job-site safety
Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
