Digital Consultants is seeking an experienced Engineering Technical Writer specializing in technical policy and compliance. You will interact with engineering teams to create and refine diagnostic procedures and documentation for use by non-engineers. You will improve editorial and visual standards for documentation and recommend new designs, layouts, and formatting as needed.
Location: Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, Virginia
Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate complex technical requirements into clear, concise, and user-friendly language without losing technical accuracy
  • Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and regulatory teams to ensure documentation meets industry standards
  • Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure and form documentation
  • Manage task and information flow using collaboration software such as SharePoint
  • Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team

Requirements
Education: High School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience)
Clearance: TS/SCI
  • Strong network/systems engineering background
  • Strong understanding of engineering terminology, technical standards, and compliance frameworks
  • Creating visual aids, flow charts, structured templates to improve comprehension and usability
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of documentation to ensure accuracy, currency, and compliance with evolving regulations
  • Exceptional ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, actionable language
  • Familiarity with controlled document management systems and version control practices
