Freelance English into German Legal Translator and/or Editor

Company: Global Language Strategies
Location: Remote 
Position Type: Freelance / Contract / As-needed 
 
Global Language Strategies is seeking an experienced freelance linguist to provide English-to-German legal translation and/or editing services. This is an ongoing, as-needed contract opportunity for experienced professionals with strong legal terminology skills, excellent written accuracy, and the ability to deliver high-quality work remotely.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience providing legal translation and/or editing services.
  • Native-level French writing skills and advanced proficiency in written English.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. legal, judicial, and technical terminology in English and German.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a foreign language, linguistics, translation, or a comparable field.
  • Experience using computer-assisted translation tools; Trados experience is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Security and Citizenship Requirements:
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must be willing to complete security clearance processing, including fingerprinting, if selected.

Availability:
Candidates should generally be available between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on most weekdays and able to accept on-demand assignments totaling approximately 10 to 15 hours per week, as needed.
