LMI is seeking a highly motivated Data Science & AI/ML Intern for Summer 2026 to contribute to impactful projects in data science, software development, and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML). This internship provides an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, analyze complex datasets, and develop AI-driven solutions that support LMI’s mission to provide innovative solutions for government clients.Â
This role is dedicated to bolstering our Advanced Analytics & AI practice and supporting our USPS customer. Â
*This position is currently full-time onsite at the customers Washington DC office. Â

- Participate in research and development efforts focused on emerging AI and data science methodologies.Â
- Conduct data analysis and build predictive models using Python, SQL, and machine learning libraries.Â
- Develop and implement AI/ML algorithms to solve real-world problems.Â
- Assist in the development of software applications leveraging cloud computing platforms like AWS or Azure.Â
- Create data visualizations and dashboards to present analytical insights effectively.Â
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI-driven solutions into existing systems. Â
- Current enrollment in a degree seeking program requiredÂ
- Availability to work full-time for at least 10-12 weeks for summer 2026
- Must be available starting at the end of May 2026
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.Â
- Experience with Python, SQL, and machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch).Â
- Familiarity with software development, cloud computing (AWS, Azure), and algorithms.Â
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex datasets.Â
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib) is a plus.Â
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.Â
- Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLSÂ
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Access.Â
- Experience with Visual Basic for Applications and Java is highly desirable.Â
- Programming experience—ability to program and learn new programming languages quickly.Â
