Overview
TC Harris School & Academy is now seeking a Student Support Specialist to join their Education Leadership team!
At TC Harris, this position will play a key role within IEP Compliance, External Stakeholder Partnerships, and student Admissions at TC Harris.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide leadership, vision, direction, supervision and expertise in compliance with the IEP process.
  • Attend and Facilitate IEP meetings.
  • Assist in planning and development of IEP.
  • Work directly with teachers, support staff, and IEP team to design and execute effective student interventions and accommodations.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, LEA's, and Student caseworkers to implement and ensure compliance with specialized education plans.
  • Ensure all legal and procedural requirements are met, including maintaining accurate IEP records. Maintains database of student IEP and evaluation dates.
  • Analyze student data and progress on IEP goals.
  • Supports teachers with IEP data tracking and goal progress monitoring.
  • Coordinate the admission review and dismissal/discharge of student with regards to educational documents for each student.
  • Participates in classroom placement decisions based on educational, social, and behavioral data presented.
  • Conducts student academic assessments upon admission and when needed.
  • Assist with the development, design and implementation of school systems to ensure routine monitoring of IEP documentation for compliance.
  • Collaborate with staff in developing and providing support in the implementation of the IEP process to ensure compliance with federal, state and T.C. Harris guidelines.

Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • A valid Indiana Special Education license in Mild and/or Severe Intervention required A Director of Exceptional Needs License is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with writing compliant Individual Education Plans that utilize state standards and content connectors.
  • Ability to lead case conferences and must have knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, and Article 7.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including parents, teachers, clinicians, and administrators.
  • Experience with DOE graduation pathways and the requirements for graduation.

Position Schedule + Benefits:
  • Schedule: Following the Regular School year calendar + ESY availability
  • Salary: Starting at $60,000 Annually + additional credit for licensures and Special Education experience
