TTI Consumer Power Tools, Inc., has an opening in its Anderson, SC facility for aQuality PSE (Product Support Engineer)that will act as the voice of the customer (VOC) and lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects in the Outdoor Products division. Scope:

A cross-functional leader focusing on continuous improvement of the products in the Outdoor Products division by comprehensively analyzing customer experience data sources, identifying product improvement opportunities, and ensuring their implementation within current and new products.

Responsibilities / Skills

  • Regularly reviews metric data from various sources to identify issues, trends, and improvement opportunities in the products from the customer perspective.
  • Prepares and presents quality data regarding all products and product categories to indicate progress towards company goals and objectives
  • Prepares and presents results of analysis to product development teams
  • Conducts regular cross-functional meetings with product development teams
  • Lead root cause analysis (8D / 5 Why)
  • Supports the quality function on new product development projects with product quality history analysis.
  • Supports Supplier Quality in all phases of interaction with suppliers, including development of new parts and assemblies, improvement of existing parts and assemblies and Corrective Action when necessary.
  • Participates as an active member in the development, planning and formulation of policies, objectives, and goals
  • Inspect and analyze components and products for conformance to specifications
  • Develop inspection instructions and Equipment
  • Perform system audits to assure procedures are being followed
  • Global Travel required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Update procedures, statistical techniques, testing mechanisms, and equipment
  • Maintain a current knowledge of:
    • Statistical process control and AQL sampling methodologies
    • The latest drawing and test specification standards (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance, etc.)
    • The latest gauging methods, procedures and software and introduce them into the company where appropriate.
    • Apply statistical methods such as gauge R & R, design of experiments and statistical process control to quality related issues.
    • Perform process and quality system audits to ensure conformance to specifications and documented procedures.
    • Research, develop and revise Quality Policies, Procedures, System Instructions, Process Control Plans and Work Instructions.
  • The structure and workings of the Milwaukee Quality Management System and all certifying agency requirements.

Education And Experience

  • BS or BA or equivalent experience in an engineering role, or a 2-year degree with up to 5 years of quality experience
  • Preferred: working knowledge of QMS (Quality Management System) (ex: ISO 9001)

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel globally (up to 30%)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and/or Power BI skills a plus
    • Previous exposure with Design of Experiments, life data analysis, and other related statistical tools and software (i.e. Minitab, Reliasoft, JMP) a plus
    • Previous exposure to quality management systems and structures including auditing and control plan creation
    • Written and verbal communication skills and creative problem-solving capabilities
    • Experience and knowledge using power tools is preferred

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift as much as 30 pounds at times.
