Job description

Primary Function:

The Engineering Specialist - Analytics leverages statistical modeling and data analysis to optimize manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for transforming raw process data into actionable insights, identifying trends in process capability, and driving data-driven improvements across production lines.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis & Modeling: Execute statistical analysis on large datasets to determine process capabilities (Cpk and Ppk) and identify variance drivers.
  • Project Lifecycle Management: Plan and execute assigned projects, defining scope and methodology under the guidance of senior engineering staff.
  • Testing & Validation: Design and conduct controlled experiments (DOE); analyze results to validate process changes and prepare technical reports for leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Problem Solving: Identify systemic production bottlenecks; collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Maintenance teams to implement root-cause solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean and Six Sigma initiatives by delivering measurable improvements in yield, cycle time, and cost reduction.
  • Process Monitoring: Assist in the deployment of real-time monitoring tools and dashboards (e.g., SPC) to ensure ongoing adherence to specifications.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all analytical activities comply with safety standards; may assist in the proper handling and documentation of hazardous waste as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required:

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree (Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or Data Science preferred).
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong foundation in engineering principles and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP, or Python/R).
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex data sets into clear, executive-level summaries and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Continuous Improvement: Experience with Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean manufacturing methodologies.
