Job description

Markon is seeking a Reverse Engineer to support the Fort Meade customer by analyzing hardware, software, and operating systems to develop advanced capabilities supporting Computer Network Operations (CNO). This role applies reverse engineering techniques to identify system functionality, discover vulnerabilities, and develop innovative tools that enhance mission effectiveness. Working within a collaborative engineering environment, the Reverse Engineer supports the research, development, testing, and deployment of mission-critical cyber capabilities.


  • Perform reverse engineering of hardware components, software applications, operating systems, and firmware to determine functionality, code structure, and system behavior.
  • Analyze binaries, executables, and system internals to identify vulnerabilities and support the development of CNO tools and techniques.
  • Develop software and proof-of-concept capabilities using Assembly, C, C#, C++, Java, Perl, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Utilize hardware and software reverse engineering tools to analyze complex systems and support mission requirements.
  • Apply CNO tools and methodologies to evaluate software systems and support operational objectives.
  • Perform computer forensics and kernel-level programming to analyze low-level system functionality.
  • Develop prototypes, technical reports, and proof-of-concept code demonstrating reverse engineering findings and capabilities.
  • Create and deliver technical presentations and documentation for Government customers and internal engineering teams.
  • Manage source code and engineering artifacts using version control systems such as Subversion, CVS, Git, or comparable tools.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, vulnerability researchers, and cyber operators to develop and integrate mission capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI W/ Polygraph through this Customer
  • Bachelor's degree and the required years of reverse engineering or software engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity.
  • Experience performing reverse engineering of hardware, software, operating systems, or firmware.
  • Experience programming in one or more of the following: Assembly, C, C#, C++, Java, Perl, or Python.
  • Experience analyzing binaries, operating system internals, and low-level software behavior.
  • Experience with reverse engineering frameworks and analysis tools.
  • Experience supporting Computer Network Operations (CNO) or offensive cyber operations.
  • Experience with kernel-level programming and computer forensics.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills.

Preferred

  • Experience identifying software vulnerabilities and supporting exploit development.
  • Experience with reverse engineering tools such as Ghidra, IDA Pro, Binary Ninja, Radare2, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows internals.
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community or Department of Defense cyber operations.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.

USD $145,000.00 - USD $230,000.00 /Yr.
