A Freelance Culture Manager is an independent professional who helps organizations or projects develop, maintain, and enhance their workplace culture on a contract basis. They may work with companies to design and implement strategies that promote positive values, employee engagement, diversity, and a healthy work environment. Unlike full-time, in-house culture managers, freelancers typically work with multiple clients and tailor their services to the unique needs of each organization. Their responsibilities can range from facilitating workshops and team-building activities to advising on cultural transformation and internal communications.

How do Freelance Culture Managers typically integrate with established teams and company cultures?

Freelance Culture Managers are often brought in to assess, enhance, or transform workplace culture without being permanent employees. They must balance introducing new initiatives with respecting existing values, often working closely with HR, leadership, and employee groups. Adaptability and clear communication are key, as every organization has unique dynamics that require tailored strategies.

Job description

The Role

Game Seven is seeking a full-time Freelance Recruiting Manager to identify, recruit, and pipeline best-in-class creative, strategy, digital, and production talent. This is a permanent, internal role dedicated to building and sustaining the freelance talent infrastructure that powers our work.

This role sits at the intersection of talent sourcing, recruitment strategy, and creative operations. You will own the end-to-end process of finding, vetting, and cultivating a dynamic freelance network - from designers and creative directors to producers and editors - ensuring we always have the right talent ready when projects demand it.

You are equal parts recruiter, relationship-builder, and operator. You thrive in fast-paced environments, understand the rhythms of a creative agency, and take genuine pride in knowing the talent landscape better than anyone in the room.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Sourcing & Recruitment

  • ย  ย  ย  Proactively identify, vet, and recruit a bench of freelance creative and production talent across all experience levels
  • ย  ย  ย  Build and maintain talent pipelines across disciplines including design, art direction, strategy, video production, experiential, and emerging skill sets
  • ย  ย  ย  Own and evolve a structured freelance database, including rates, availability, specialties, and performance history
  • ย  ย  ย  Stay deeply tapped into industry networks, communities, and cultural movements to continuously surface new and emerging voices
  • ย  ย  ย  Conduct outreach and intake conversations to assess fit, establish relationships, and qualify talent before project needs arise

Pipeline Development & Relationship Management

  • ย  ย  ย  Develop and nurture ongoing relationships with freelancers so we are always a preferred partner when they're available
  • ย  ย  ย  Maintain warm pipelines across all key disciplines so the agency can move quickly when opportunities arise
  • ย  ย  ย  Represent Game Seven's brand and culture compellingly when recruiting freelance talent

Operations & Process

  • ย  ย  ย  Collaborate with Finance, Legal, & Operations on freelancer onboarding, contracting, and rate negotiation
  • ย  ย  ย  Ensure a smooth and professional onboarding experience that reflects well on the agency
  • ย  ย  ย  Maintain clear documentation around freelance talent pipelines and recruitment activity
  • ย  ย  ย  Help refine and scale freelance recruitment processes as the agency grows
Qualifications
  • ย  ย  ย  3-5 years of experience in talent recruitment, a creative agency, production company, or related environment
  • ย  ย  ย  Proven track record of sourcing and building freelance creative or production talent pipelines
  • ย  ย  ย  Strong understanding of creative disciplines and production workflows
  • ย  ย  ย  Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build trust quickly
  • ย  ย  ย  Ability to manage multiple recruitment priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • ย  ย  ย  An existing network within creative and/or production communities is a strong plus
  • ย  ย  ย  Experience in culture-driven, sports, or entertainment marketing is a plus

The pay range for this position is $85,000 - 100,000
