Freelancers take on projects from various clients, which can range from building websites and applications to troubleshooting software and writing code for specific tasks. This type of work offers flexibility in choosing projects, setting schedules, and working remotely. However, it also requires managing your own business tasks, such as finding clients, negotiating contracts, and handling taxes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a freelance computer programmer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Freelance Computer Programmer, you need strong coding abilities in relevant programming languages, problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of software development principles, typically supported by a degree or equivalent practical experience. Familiarity with version control systems (like Git), project management tools, and knowledge of frameworks or platforms specific to your niche is highly valued. Full-time

Job description

Associate Product Designer – AI-Native UI/UX
Expert Technical Solutions has an outstanding opportunity for an Associate Product Designer with an Award Winning, industry leading company in Peachtree Corners, GA. This is not a traditional UI production role. You will work with product leaders, engineers, business experts, users, and AI tools to rethink workflows from first principles. You will create interfaces and interaction models that solve difficult business problems without defaulting to the familiar patterns of legacy enterprise software.
My client is looking for a designer early in their career who prototypes quickly, learns visibly, communicates clearly, and treats AI as a normal part of the creative process.
This is a Permanent, Fully ONSITE opportunity offering competitive salary, excellent benefits, and outstanding growth opportunities!
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design modern, responsive web and mobile experiences in Figma.
  • Use Zeplin or similar collaboration tools to present designs, document decisions, and collect feedback through design iterations.
  • Use AI tools daily to explore concepts, generate alternatives, accelerate research, and prototype interaction ideas.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, clickable prototypes, polished interfaces, and developer-ready specifications.
  • Partner directly with engineers to translate designs into production experiences and resolve implementation tradeoffs.
  • Rethink existing enterprise workflows from first principles rather than simply reskinning current screens.
  • Conduct lightweight discovery, user interviews, workflow observation, and usability testing.
  • Iterate using feedback, product analytics, operational outcomes, and technical constraints.
  • Contribute to an evolving design system while recognizing when a new problem requires a new pattern.
  • Stay current on AI-assisted design tools, agentic workflows, conversational interaction patterns, and emerging product-design practices.
Technical Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or comparable Technical Degree); equivalent work experience will be considered
  • 2+ years of UI/UX or product-design experience. Internships, freelance work, and strong personal projects count.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates thoughtful problem-solving, not only polished final screens.
  • Strong working proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, prototyping, and responsive layouts.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Lovable, v0, Bolt, Midjourney, Microsoft Copilot, or comparable tools.
  • Understanding of responsive design, accessibility, interaction states, and design handoff.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, curiosity, humility, and a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Comfortable working 100% on-site in Peachtree Corners, GA
Preferred Skills:
  • Designing AI-first, conversational, recommendation-based, or context-aware experiences.
  • Prompt engineering and structured experimentation with generative AI.
  • Design systems, motion design, micro-interactions, HTML/CSS, or frontend collaboration.
  • Enterprise SaaS, field-service, logistics, construction, rental, waste, ERP, CRM, or operational workflow products.
