Work Schedule
40 hours a week. Weekly schedule flexes around tentpole coverage. Expect regular frequency of weeknight and weekend hours based on tentpoles and news cycle.
What You'll Do
  • Own day-to-day content creation and publishing for Complex on Facebook, X, and Threads - this role does not cover Instagram, TikTok, or other platforms.
  • Live tweet tentpole moments (award shows, major sports events, breaking culture news, etc.) in real time with quick, on-brand reactions.
  • Take editorial articles from Complex.com and socialize them natively for Facebook, X, and Threads writing platform-specific copy rather than reposting headlines as-is.Ideate, create, and post original content built specifically for Facebook, X, and Threads - not repurposed Instagram or TikTok assets - that reflects the norms and format expectations of each platform.
  • Monitor Facebook, X, and Threads in real time for breaking news, trending conversations, and viral moments relevant to Complex's audience, and move quickly to capitalize on them.
  • Maintain and evolve the Complex voice and tone across both platforms, exercising good editorial judgment on framing and timing.
  • Coordinate with the broader social team on scheduling, workflow, and cross-platform consistency for tentpole moments and major stories.Flag standout or viral-worthy editorial content to the social team for prioritization.

Who You Are
  • Prior experience managing or posting to brand or publisher accounts on Facebook, X, and Threads
  • Strong, fast writing skills - comfortable turning around copy in real time during live events
  • Willingness and availability to work weeknights and weekends for live tentpole coverage (award shows, games, breaking news, etc.)
  • Deep fluency in Facebook, X, and Threads platform conventions, formatting, and native content styles
  • Strong understanding of Complex's voice and tone, and broader Internet culture
  • Broad knowledge of pop culture, sports, music, and streetwear/fashion
  • Self-starter who can work independently on a flexible, event-driven schedule
  • Reliable, responsive, and able to move fast under time pressure
  • Core Competencies: Fast, sound editorial judgment in real time, Platform-native thinking, Reliability and availability for off-hours coverage, Strong collaborator within a fast-moving team

$28 - $28 an hour
The Pay Range, which consists of salary and commission, for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Complex Total Rewards offerings for employees.
