Job description

Interstates is currently seeking a full-time CNC Technician to join our Sioux Center, IA manufacturing team. This role will provide direct support to Interfab, as defined in the primary job duties section, below. An ideal candidate will be results driven, safety-minded, and work well with a team. Key Responsibilities 

  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters 
  • Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock 
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards 
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. 
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs 
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs; documents and communicates actions, irregularities, and continuing needs 
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications 
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments 
  • Tracks the usage and materials to be charged to the appropriate job cost code 
  • Operate equipment such as CNC Press Brake (Haco), CNC Router (Shop Sabre), and CNC Laser (HK Laser).

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, this role is often exposed to high/precarious places, risk of electrical shock, and all outside weather conditions. This role is expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Due to the nature of our work and our client base, this role may involve tasks in an environment exposed to dust. Candidates should be comfortable working in these conditions and complying with safety standards to protect their well-being.
