HIRING POSITION “Independent Contractor”

  • Location: “On-Site” - Baltimore, MD.
  • Full-time: Freelance Independent Contractor | 90-Day Probation Period.
  • W-2 Employment: Direct Hire Optional Upon Completion of Probation Period
  • Hours of Operations: Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm EST (New York).
  • Summary: The Network Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting the organization's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and internet systems. This role ensures network availability, performance, security, and reliability for all users while supporting ongoing business operations. Based on internal role descriptions, the position may also assist with network security, capacity planning, user support, and technology evaluations.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware and software.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability.
  • Administer LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, and internet connectivity services.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures and controls.
  • Coordinate network upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance activities.
  • Analyze network utilization and recommend performance improvements.
  • Perform capacity planning and network tuning activities.
  • Support incident response and problem resolution efforts.
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Provide technical support and training to end users as needed.
  • Evaluate new technologies, hardware, and software solutions for potential adoption.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8+ Years’ Experience managing complex network environments and leading technical initiatives.
  • Bachelor's Degree (Information Technology | Computer Science | Equivalent Work Experience).
  • Cisco CCNA certification (or Equivalent).
  • Cisco CCNP, Palo Alto, Microsoft Azure, or VMware certifications.
  • Experience with Cisco routers, Cisco ASA firewalls, Barracuda routers, Cradle Point routers, Digi routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Experience with monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds and CrowdStrike.
  • Experience administering enterprise network environments.
  • Knowledge of routing, switching, network protocols, and TCP/IP.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Hourly Rate: $35.00 (USD) per Hour (Hourly Rate “Negotiable” Based On Experience).
