What is the difference between Freelance Building Code Plan Reviewer vs Building Inspector?
| Aspect | Freelance Building Code Plan Reviewer | Building Inspector |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Typically requires building code certifications, relevant experience, and sometimes a license | Requires building inspection certifications, licensing, and relevant experience |
| Work Environment | Independent, project-based, often remote or on-site during plan review phases | On-site inspections, often employed by municipalities or agencies |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Freelance consultants, architectural firms, construction companies | Municipalities, government agencies, private inspection firms |
While both roles involve building codes, a Freelance Building Code Plan Reviewer primarily reviews construction plans for compliance before construction begins, working independently.
