Job description

Job Summary

Harbinger is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in developing and integrating the core electrical systems that power our commercial EVs. This is a hands-on position where you'll be responsible for the entire engineering process, from design and development to validation and production. You'll work on cutting-edge technologies that are critical to the performance, safety, and success of our vehicles.

Responsibilities 
  • Design & Development: Develop and document vehicle electrical architectures, including power distribution and communication networks.

  • Component Integration: Work with suppliers to identify, source, and integrate electrical components and wiring harnesses into vehicle platforms.

  • Testing & Validation: Create requirements and test plans for subsystems and components, then execute tests to ensure reliability and manufacturability.

  • Troubleshooting: Provide cross-functional electrical systems support, troubleshooting and resolving vehicle and system-level issues related to electrical systems.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of all systems.

  • Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of designs, test results, and system requirements.

Qualifications 
  • Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.

  • Experience: Proven experience in electrical engineering, preferably with a focus on EV or automotive electrical systems design, validation, and production.

  • Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) architectures, wiring systems, power electronics, and vehicle charging technologies.

  • Knowledge of Standards: A strong understanding of automotive compliance and safety standards like ISO 26262, FMVSS, and EMC/EMI.

  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with automotive communication protocols like CAN, LIN, and Ethernet. Experience with modeling tools like MATLAB/Simulink is a plus. Experience with Capital tools is a huge plus.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
