Job description

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Do you thrive on transforming ideas into immersive environments using cutting-edge technology? Join Spectrum as a Senior Designer of Virtual Sets, where you’ll be responsible for the design, development, and management of virtual and augmented reality news set pieces using Zero Desnsity (Unreal engine renderer) and VIZrt for news broadcasts. Collaborate with creative and technical teams to elevate visual storytelling, ensuring seamless operation and impactful results for Spectrum Networks. Your expertise will directly influence the quality and innovation of our on-air presentation.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead the development, design and texturing of virtual sets for multiple uses across Spectrum Networks
  • Collaborate with news and creative services teams to plan and produce compelling virtual environments
  • Utilize advanced creative skills and technology expertise to craft animations for augmented reality
  • Maintain, expand and consistently update virtual sets to ensure ongoing excellence
  • Uphold Spectrum Networks’ style guide in all co-branded materials
  • Manage upkeep of assigned company equipment, ensuring readiness and reliability
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to introduce new design perspectives and ideas
  • Attend stakeholder meetings to provide updates on set development and management

Working Conditions

  • Office-based role
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and adapt to schedule changes
  • Travel as required

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field or equivalent work experience

Experience

  • 5+ years of 3D design and animation

Skills

  • Proficiency in C4D and Adobe suite
  • Demonstrated broadcast design experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Experience collaborating in team-oriented environments
  • Sound decision-making and problem resolution under pressure
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate solutions
  • Adaptability, enthusiasm, initiative and a positive approach to problem solving
  • Creative and artistic conceptualization and judgment skills
  • Knowledge of Zero Density or other VR/AR platforms
