The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Air Traffic Controller (Supervisory), GS-2152-11, located at the Airfield Operations Flight (OSA), Pacific Air Force's Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK.

Special Salary Rate:103,000 - 117,000

In this role, you will serve as a first-level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and control over non-supervisory employees. The incumbent provides watch supervisory Air Traffic Control duties for Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Control Tower and Precision Approach Radar (PAR) operations, and functions as a senior controller to issue control instructions to aircraft operating under visual and instrument flight rules.
US citizenship is required
Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance
Must possess valid air traffic controller certification and obtain/maintain currency of the same
This is a designated drug testing position
Supervisory experience is highly desired
Knowledge of Terminal Air Traffic Control Procedures, including Tower and Precision Approach Radar (PAR) within TRSA and Class D airspace, as well as the overarching laws, rules, regulations, and procedures governing air traffic movement
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures, as well as the functional and operational limitations of all ATC equipment, airfield/approach lighting, ATCALS, arresting systems, and related support systems
Knowledge of weather phenomena, localized meteorological effects, and appropriate reporting and dissemination procedures
Skill in planning, organizing, and directing the operational functions, resources, and personnel of a small to medium-sized organization
Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
Required Documents:
Provide front and back copies of Federal Aviation Administration Credential card for Air Traffic Control Specialist qualifications
Meet medical requirements for Civilian DoD/Federal Air Traffic Control Specialists and obtain and provide a copy of a current FAA Medical Certificate
Requirements:
The incumbent must have the ability to meet and maintain on a continuing basis, the physical, mental, and medical standards for ATC duties as specified by the OPM qualification standard for GS-2152
Must possess current and valid FAA/ATC specialist certification and maintain same
At least 3-5 years ATC tower experience is highly desired
