This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Detective & Police Officers - Freelance AI Trainer Project based in Netherlands.

This freelance opportunity is ideal for experienced law enforcement professionals who want to contribute to the development of responsible and effective AI systems. In this role, you will use your real-world policing expertise to evaluate and improve AI-generated responses across a variety of investigative and public safety scenarios. Your insights will help ensure that AI models reflect practical procedures, ethical decision-making, and operational accuracy. Working in a fully remote environment, you will assess complex case examples, provide detailed feedback, and support the continuous improvement of advanced AI technologies. This position offers the flexibility of independent contract work while allowing you to make a meaningful impact on the future of AI applications in law enforcement.

Accountabilities:

As a Freelance AI Trainer, you will leverage your professional law enforcement experience to evaluate and enhance AI model performance across realistic policing scenarios. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing AI-generated content related to criminal investigations, patrol operations, incident response, evidence handling, report writing, interviewing techniques, and procedural justice.
  • Assessing the accuracy, realism, and procedural correctness of AI-generated case scenarios and investigative workflows.
  • Identifying factual inaccuracies, gaps in reasoning, unrealistic assumptions, and inconsistencies with real-world law enforcement practices.
  • Providing detailed written feedback that explains correct procedures, highlights errors, and supports model improvement.
  • Helping refine AI training data by clarifying operational best practices, legal distinctions, ethical considerations, and common misconceptions.
  • Applying professional judgment to ensure AI outputs align with practical policing standards and decision-making processes.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings practical law enforcement experience along with strong analytical and communication skills. Candidates should possess:

  • Current or previous professional experience as a police officer, detective, investigator, or member of a specialized law enforcement unit.
  • Strong understanding of criminal investigations, patrol procedures, evidence management, interviewing techniques, and report writing.
  • Experience with case management systems, courtroom preparation, interagency collaboration, or related law enforcement responsibilities is highly valued.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain reasoning, procedures, and decision-making.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to evaluate complex scenarios objectively.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote freelance environment.
  • No prior AI or technical experience is required, as project-specific training and guidelines will be provided.
