We are currently seeking an Access Control Specialist to support our NSWC customer in Crane, IN. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following tasks, as well as possess the following education and experience:
This role requires in-person support.
Duties:
  • Serve as the Security Specialist, responsible for issuing and accounting of access control credentials and passes in order to control entry and access, protect sensitive property, information, material, equipment, and all other tasks related to pass and identification function.
  • Support established security programs (e.g., personnel, physical, information, or industrial security) when such work requires, additionally, general administrative and or clerical skills, practical knowledge of specific security objectives, programs, methods and procedures, and skills in carrying out support tasks related to security administration.
  • Instruct visitors on security requirements, especially those relating to prohibited items and the necessity of wearing entry credentials and passes.
  • Conduct inventory to ensure that all entry credentials and passes are issued, accounted and turned-in in accordance with the established guidance.
  • Reports lost, missing, or stolen credentials to the proper authorities.
  • Ensures that personnel requesting access have all proper documents and information needed before issuing entry credentials.
  • Answers telephones, take messages, receives visitors, and gives routine information, referring callers to appropriate staff members for specific action.
  • Has knowledge of security procedures to ensure that only authorized personnel enter NSWC Crane installations.
  • Supports, reads, and understands security and access control policies, procedures, and has the ability to follow written and oral instructions related to the installations access control functions and office administration. Performs routine clerical duties such as typing, writing, filing, and making copies.
  • Experience with basic computer applications such as: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
  • Will follow the requirements based on access requirements and need to know to assure the correct IDs are issued.
  • Supports the proper protection of classified material and information including CUI and distribution statements.
  • Processing Classified Visits and meetings
  • Assure personnel, both Government and Contractors, have the correct access credential to access secure areas.
  • Conduct end-of-day security checks
  • Respond to emergencies and/or work outside of normal operating hours to support work to address emergency conditions.
  • Non-traditional hours. Must be willing to work shifts: 6:00 am -2:00pm and/or 9:30am -6:00pm
  • In the event of a security systems failure (during normal shift or after-hours), personnel will staff the security desk until the system failure is corrected and facilities can be properly secured.
  • Perform inventory of controlled unclassified material and collateral material classified up to Secret for administrative material entering and leaving code spaces and control points.
  • Use Base Information Tracking System (BITS), or other approved program, for receipt, issuance and disposal of classified material.
  • Verify authorized users have the appropriate level of security clearance and the need-to-know for the material requested by maintaining classified material access lists.
  • Assist in destruction and transmittal of services to the customer and assist in an annual classified inventory of media center materials.

Desired Education:
  • Bachelor's degree.

Desired Experience:
  • Relevant experience as it relates to the position duties.
  • 1+ year of customer service experience.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
