Free Life Counseling, LLC is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Mental Health Therapist, who holds a valid license such as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT, to join our compassionate team in providing specialized mental health services to individuals impacted by trauma. This role is primarily remote, enabling you to conduct therapy sessions from the comfort of your own space while still providing essential support to clients throughout the Austin area. Our practice leverages technology to conduct effective virtual sessions, ensuring that every client receives the highest standard of care. Our administrative team is readily available to assist you with the operational aspects of your role, allowing you to focus solely on therapy and client care.

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand each patient’s unique trauma history and determine suitable treatment strategies.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at fostering trauma recovery and building resilience in clients.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, creating a safe platform for patients to process their trauma and develop essential coping strategies.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated and holistic care for clients, ensuring all aspects of their mental health are addressed.
• Provide urgent crisis intervention as needed, offering support during trauma-related emergencies.
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, coping methods, and available resources that can aid in recovery.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in accordance with ethical and legal standards, ensuring that all client information is secure and accessible.
• Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development initiatives that emphasize trauma-informed care practices.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices related to trauma therapy, integrating newfound insights into your therapeutic approach.

In this role, you will primarily work with clients who have experienced various types of trauma, including but not limited to PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your expertise will help empower and guide individuals through their recovery journeys, fostering resilience and strength in facing their challenges. Your focus on trauma-informed care will ensure that each client feels heard, understood, and supported throughout their healing process.

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
• A strong foundation in trauma-informed methodologies and therapeutic techniques focused on trauma recovery.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and technology conducive to remote client care.
• Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.
• The ability to maintain calmness in stressful situations, providing reassurance and stability for clients.

We prefer candidates with at least 2 years of post-licensure experience in a relevant clinical setting, possessing a comprehensive understanding of trauma-related disorders and best practices for trauma-focused treatment. A proven track record of successful therapy delivery, particularly in a remote setting, will be advantageous.
